The Senoia Optimist Club presents three $1,500.00 scholarships each year to graduating seniors from both East Coweta High School and Northgate High, both in Sharpsburg, GA.
The Jim Nations Scholarship at East Coweta High was established in memory of a charter member of the club in 1985. The goal is to help defray the cost of tuition at a college or technical school for a student interested in technical training and developing skills that may not require a four-year college degree to build competency in a career.
Scholarship application forms are sent to each high school Guidance Department at the beginning of January and are posted on the school’s scholarship website. Applications must be completed and returned to the Counselors’ Office by the end of March to allow time for evaluation. Scholarships are awarded at each school’s Scholarship Awards Program in late April or early May.
