Traditionally held on the third Saturday in October, the Senoia Optimist Club’s BBQ offers
pulled pork and the McKnight family’s renowned Brunswick stew. All proceeds are donated to AFLAC Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Center at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
One hundred pounds of barbecued pork can be bought by the pound, by the sandwich, and has
sometimes been offered as part of a $10.00 meal with a bun, BBQ sauce, chips, cookies, and a
drink. Brunswick stew is prepared the day before the sale and is ready to eat or can be frozen for
long periods of time. Prices vary yearly based on local costs.
Optimist volunteers set up tables, a smoker grill, coolers, and everything else needed outside
Senoia’s Farmers’ Market entrance at 40 Travis Street. Sales begin after 10:30 a.m. and last
until the last customer is satisfied. Cash, checks, cards, and donations are gratefully accepted.
Preorders can be purchased through our Gmail account at senoiaoptimistclub@gmail.com or
through this website. See you in October!
