The Fishing Derby is held the 3rd Saturday of every September. Average attendance is 80 children and their families. 134 children attended the 2023 event.
Fishing Derby Objectives
To provide children an outdoor event that they can enjoy with their families
To provide children that don’t have their own equipment with gear they can keep to encourage more outings
To give children an opportunity to learn about types of fish in Georgia lakes and rivers
To provide children prizes for fish caught
To provide the children and their families a lunch after fishing is completed
